Created for GMTK Game Jam 2024.

I interpreted the theme of "Built to Scale" as a man who was born to live and breath fishing in the open ocean! Sid, the man in the baseball cap, has been a fisherman his whole life and does it all from catching fish to cleaning and scaling all his catches! He is a self sufficient man who's efficiency rivals that only of the GODS!

The game consists of two mini-games that both only use the arrow keys in a RETRO handheld game style!

Fishing:

  • Wait for a bite, then wrangle the fish in by pressing the arrow keys in the order they appear from left to right!
  • After each "Speed Up" the amount of fish to catch and their difficulty will be increased!
  • Each fish nets you 1 point! (Get it... nets...)

Sorting:

  • After you catch the fish (or garbage...) you have to sort it, scale it, or clean it!
  • Fish will need to be scaled, washed, and put in the cooler.
  • Treasure (or Starfish and Scallops in this case) just need to be washed and put in the cooler.
  • Garbage can be YEET'd strait into the bin cause we don't litter in this house!
  • Each of the catches processed correctly puts 1 point to your total!

Be sure to earn 30 points to UNLOCK a BONUS FEATURE!

I hope you and Sid enjoy your time fishing together!

Amazing !!

Very fast paced and addictive gameplay!
It's a litte bit hard to see what's going on on the screen because all my attention was focused on keyboard icons though :)

Thanks for the feedback! Maybe more centralized icons would allow for more visuals around it next time! 😅

Simple but fun interpretation of the theme !

Thanks for playing! I wanted to expand it more but I love how it turned out!
